Dear Pilots,
We are very happy to announce that we have released Alpha Update #3 (0.507) for our Patreon Ace Tier subscribers. Just update your Steam install to apply.
Changes and Additions
1. Cancel Detection message in red added for when users want to stop detecting a key after clicking detect.
2. Pilot Head / Camera Reset action assigned to NumPad5 (Camera Rotation Reset and Camera Location Reset removed).
3. Made the joystick axis detection algorithm less sensitive so it doesn’t detect tiny variations on low end devices even when the player is not moving them.
4. Reverb sound effect implemented for cockpit view with canopy closed.
5. Wind speed and direction added as options in the quick mission screen.
6. Input binding migrations implemented. Should no longer require re-assigning all your inputs after each update.
7. F4F cockpit animations added. Some are purposely erroneous for testing and research purposes.
- Stick
- Rudder and Brake Pedals
- Throttle Lever
8. Ambient Occlusion settings tweaked for experimental purposes.
9. Added one more static F4F added to Midway aircraft pens to test SSAO.
10. Fixed indirect lighting tinting the plane/cockpit when flying over the ocean and landscape etc.
11. Adjusted lighting and shader exposure to adjust for the new indirect lighting.
12. Adjusted Lumen to more correctly shade materials with AO.
13. Configured F4F instrument emissive material to always be ON.
Bug Fixes
14. Vertical camera movement axis was moving the camera laterally. Now fixed.
Flight-model Changes
15. Modified wheel friction system, now static friction is handled in a smoother manner.
16. Solved bug related to propeller slipstream causing P-factor not to be computed correctly.
17. Reviewed propeller slipstream effects on both the tail and the wing.
18. Integrated inertial effects in the controls to better simulate 'weight' in the response of the aircraft.
19. Integrated effects of time of the day and season of the year on the temperature and humidity, adjusted the date to match the Midway battle.
A6M2
20. Increased wheels lateral friction coefficient.
21. Reduced alpha buffet effect on pitching moment.
22. Increased lateral-directional stability and reviewed fuselage effects.
23. Reduced minimum throttle position, increased negative thrust produced by the propeller when idling at speed.
24. Recalculated aerodynamics coefficients with slight variation in wing incidence, decreased pitch recovery tendency during dives.
25. Reduced rudder effectiveness at high slip angles.
26. Recalculated propeller coefficients, increased negative thrust produced when no power is applied.
27. Increased landing gear and flaps parasitic drag.
F4F-4
28. Modified CoG position (still within the limits defined by the manuals) to slightly increase pitch stability.
29. Increased wheels lateral friction coefficient.
30. Reduced alpha buffet effect on pitch moment.
31. Increased lateral-directional stability and reviewed fuselage effects.
32. Increased trim effectiveness.
33. Reduced minimum throttle position, increased negative thrust produced by the propeller when idling at speed.
34. Reduced rudder effectiveness at high slip angles.
35. Increased landing gear and flaps parasitic drag.
36. Integrated automatic retracting system for the flaps above 100 kt.
Enjoy!
