I am PPL-A owner for almost 20 years now and > 1500 hours of experience with different types of single piston engine airframes. Although I haven’t yet a chance to fly the Comanche, but I was really impressed by this one and wanted to share some feedback:
+ Flight model is much more realistic compared to anything else for MSFS I have seen yet. You have somewhat less authority on all axis then for other msfs GA planes and also the input is slightly delayed, like in reality. This was always disturbing me that the flight physics in MSFS is giving you too much authority and that the response is almost instant. A2A have implemented their own phyics model, which feels much more realistic.
+ Ground handling feels more realistic too. This aircraft feels like real GA aircraft on the ground. Can’t really say what exactly it is but it feels somewhat more realistic then usual. Less like “on-rails” or “on-ice” feeling. More ground resistance from tires, especially on gras. Happy with that.
+ Best piston engine simulation ever made for MSFS. It does not respond instantly to throttle input but lags slightly behind like in reality. If you lean it too much the engine starts stuttering and the RPM becomes unstable. My favorite: The EGT needle is not changing instantly like in all other MSFS planes, the exhaust gas temperature change takes some time so that setting proper mixture becomes quite a bit more challenging, like in the real plane. However auto-mixture feature doesn’t work here, you have to do it yourself with this plane.
+ Very high level of detail. Everything works. They even have a working Ashtray
Not much to say here, they thought about every detail. Especially how they have implemented the pre-flight inspection is amazing. You do the oilcheck, you take a fuel probe to check for water in the fuel, you shake on the control surfaces, check pitot, etc… you can even manually load baggage.
+ The Pad rich with features. From maintenance of all systems to live systems analysis during flight. You can watch each piston working live.
+ For the level of detail surprisingly good performance. The performance is as good as with default MSFS GA planes. I guess its because they run their simulation outside of the sim, so that it can run parallelly and does not affect the sim performance.
(-) The only bug I have noticed was that when you turn on nav lights, the gear indicator is not illuminated. I assume its a bug, but besides that there is nothing to complain about. You notice that they have put more then 10 years into development of this one.
(-) opening fuel main valves was forgotten in the checklist. If you can’t start the engine check the fuel valves between the seats before priming.
