They already did it the "right" way -- this time. I was shown an X55 after my teardown, which confirms the differences that led to this being an issue in the X55 and not here. In the X55, the wires are glued in place where they pass through the notches adjacent to the throttle. The problem this caused is that the wires get pulled taut. And not only that, they get pulled taut directly across the gears, so the gearing accelerates the wear. They made several changes in the X56 in comparison to the X55 I saw.
1) The right side was changed to have a notch as well. If you look at the teardown you see both sides do this (the right side being the left side in that video since it is turned upside down). In the X55 they routed the wires on that side around the side wall to the circuit board, instead of through the notch, which passed it right over the gears. In the X56 it is routed away from that area and through the wall.
2) The X56 does not glue the wires in place through the notches. In the teardown you see how when the wires are pulled slack gets pulled through, and when pushed the slack is pushed back. That is what you want. It keeps the wires from being tightly. That was not possible on the X55.
3) The wires are routed firmly. The X55 had masking tape where the X56 clipped the wires down. This is not directly related to the X55's problems, but it does show the greater attention to wiring in the X56 vs. the X55 and is pretty illustrative of how cavalier they were in the X55.
No sé si han solucionado la cagada de los cables del todo.
O si quedan más cagadas por arreglar.
